“If you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means keep moving.” – Martin Luther King Jr. Inspired by his words, we push the boundaries of exploration, moving forward for the benefit of humanity.
This weekend's meet-cute: Saturn and Venus 💞 Over the last couple of weeks, the two planets have been coming closer and closer in the night sky—and on the 17th and 18th, they'll be just a couple finger widths apart. Get the details—no telescope needed: go.nasa.gov/3EbQ03l
Here at @NASA, humanity’s capacity to discover—and America’s capacity to lead—shines bright. Thank you to the NASA family, who embodies the can-do spirit that makes our country exceptional. It has been the honor of my life to stand and serve with you.
Congrats to @SpaceX on Starship’s seventh test flight and the second successful booster catch. Spaceflight is not easy. It’s anything but routine. That’s why these tests are so important—each one bringing us closer on our path to the Moon and onward to Mars through #Artemis.
10 years. 600 photos. 200 million stars. The @NASAHubble team assembled a panoramic view of the Andromeda galaxy – the largest photomosaic ever made from Hubble observations! What you see here is but a taste. Click to see the full 2.5 billion pixels: go.nasa.gov/42orIgy
Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole. In memory of David Lynch, we will continue to explore the otherworldly and the unknown. We will focus not on the loss, but on what we gained from the years we shared this planet with you. We will see you in our dreams.
Congratulations to this year’s @SpaceApps Global Winners! The 10 winning projects use our open data to tackle real-world challenges, like identifying seismic activity on Earth and mapping exoplanets: go.nasa.gov/3PFMNfc
Congratulations to @blueorigin on the first successful test flight of New Glenn. Together and in the spirit of John Glenn, NASA and our commercial partners are pushing the boundaries of exploration and reaching new heights—to the Moon, Mars, and beyond!
The patches for our NICER telescope have been installed thanks to @NASA_Astronauts Nick Hague! The next steps for the NICER team include unstowing the telescope and restarting daytime observations to examine the data with the patches installed. Stay tuned for updates.
Tune in now to watch @AstroHague install patches on our NICER X-ray telescope!
The rate gyro assembly that helps maintain station orientation has been replaced. @AstroHague will soon work on the NICER X-ray telescope while @Astro_Suni will replace navigation hardware.
LIVE: Two @NASA_Astronauts, Nick Hague and Suni Williams, step outside of the @Space_Station to support station upgrades, including repairs to our NICER (Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer) X-ray telescope.
The third U.S. robotic commercial launch successfully lifted off on a @SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. @Firefly_Space’s Blue Ghost lander is expected to reach the lunar surface in March: go.nasa.gov/42dBz8Y
We’ve confirmed separation. The Blue Ghost lander and its payloads continue on their voyage to the Moon. For more updates, check @Firefly_Space.
There it goes: our post-holiday delivery aboard Blue Ghost begins its journey to the Moon! In addition to providing information about the Moon, the data these instruments will capture could help us on Earth by providing insights into how space weather impacts our planet.
Destination: Moon Our biggest commercial lunar delivery yet is on @Firefly_Space’s Blue Ghost lander, set to launch on a @SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at 1:11am ET (0611 UTC). The science aboard will help prepare for future human missions to the lunar surface.

A full moon and Mars are the pair to spot tonight 👀 Tonight, Jan. 13, look up as the full moon cozies up to Mars. For skywatchers across the U.S. and Eastern Canada, the Moon will appear to pass in front of the Red Planet for a few hours as the pair rise into the eastern sky.
