I’m thrilled to announce the sequel to Liftoff, titled REENTRY, will be published on September 24. This book picks up the story where Liftoff left off, taking readers on a wild ride aboard the Falcon 9, Dragon, Heavy, and so much more. Publisher page: penguinrandomhouse.com/books/759707/r…

Just finished reading @SciGuySpace's second book, Reentry, today on my flight out to DC. It was a fascinating and excellent retelling of SpaceX's development of the Falcon 9, booster reuse, Dragon, Falcon Heavy, Crew Dragon, and a little bit about Starship and Starlink.

To be clear we are *far* from anything being settled, but based on what I'm hearing it seems at least 50-50 that NASA's Space Launch System rocket will be canceled. Not Block 1B. Not Block 2. All of it. There are other ways to get Orion to the Moon.

NASA's view—and perhaps the public's, too—of medical privacy has changed in the nearly 50 years since three Apollo astronauts were hospitalized for lung irritation. arstechnica.com/space/2024/11/…

For the longest time Russia dismissed the idea of landing a rocket. Now, they’re building a Grasshopper of their own. arstechnica.com/space/2024/11/…

Clearly Jed is making a play to sign up Australian Space Agency astronauts on Vast space stations.

The way humans give birth is so crazy. Both woman and child almost dying just to get the head size larger. If kangaroos had another million years they would totally dominate. Such a better way to do it. They would have heads the size watermelons and be 10x smarter than us.

Don't forget to use your turn signal, Rafael.

Watching SpaceX's Tripod stand at McGregor being worked on only makes me think about one of my favorite quotes from @SciGuySpace's Reentry: "Dog not scared?" I wrote about Eric's book here: spacevoyaging.com/news/2024/09/2…

Parts of the tripod stand at McGregor Texas have started to be disassembled. Video from @NASASpaceflight
