Don't overlook Trump's more pernicious deception. By announcing tariffs on Mexico "until" migrants stop coming, he's trying to erase the fact that Mexico *has already been* cracking down on migrants coming toward US, a big reason crossings have been low (which he can't admit).

It is absolutely crazy in the supposedly oldest democracy in the world that not even violently attacking the Capitol to overthrow the government is disqualifying. That has implications for decades to come. It's no small thing, and we should never let anyone convince us it is.

If/when Trump pardons 1/6ers and prosecutions of him are dead, there will be a strong media push toward "turning the page" and "looking forward, not backward." Trump will rewrite 1/6 entirely. Dems need to think now about how they're going to handle this. newrepublic.com/article/188777…

“People are more comfortable talking to conservatives because conservatives don’t try to cancel them” is maybe the simplest line I’ve heard explain why the right has won the culture war.

The fluoridation of water in the U.S. does not reduce IQ of children. This is simply false from Ladapo. There are no reputable studies - literally none - that show that fluoridation at the levels we have in developed countries damages children's IQ.

Adding fluoride to water increases the risk of neuropsychiatric disease in children and reduces their IQ. We can strengthen teeth without consuming this neurotoxin. The data are consistent, adding fluoride to our communities' water must stop. See my guidance here:…

The Times continues its complacent, white-gloved euphemisms: "suggest a shake-up is coming" from "ideas that are outside the medical mainstream" by Trump's "eclectic roster." People will DIE due to the rejection of medicine & science. Lord help us, for the #BrokenTimes will not.

Harris is now winning a higher percentage of the popular vote than Trump in 2016 or 2020. Trump 2016: 46.1% Trump 2020: 46.8% Harris 2024: 48.4% Trump didn’t win a “landslide” in 2024. In fact, his victory margin is one of the smallest in US history. thenation.com/article/politi…

The Biden-Harris admin capped credit card late fees. A Trump-appointed judge blocked it. The Biden-Harris admin banned noncompete clauses. A Trump-appointed judge blocked it. The Biden-Harris admin changed OT pay rules to include more workers. Guess what happened next?

NYT: "Trump is keeping secret the names of donors funding his transition effort, [which] could make it impossible to see what interest groups, businesses or wealthy people are helping launch his second term." nytimes.com/2024/11/24/us/… Ahem

For many reasons, conditions are ripe for right wing elites to loot the place from top to bottom. Remember when Trump vowed to give Big Oil execs what they want in exchange for $1 billion in campaign funds? Now we'll likely never get to the bottom of it. newrepublic.com/article/188467…

That’s right. I just introduced legislation requiring Director of National intelligence and other national security positions to disclose any finance transactions with foreign governments. We wrote this bill well before Nov 5. This is not about politics, it’s about our security.

New legislation from Sen.-elect Andy Kim (D-NJ) would require Presidential appointees, including Director of National Intelligence, to "publicly disclose information about recent financial transactions with foreign governments" congress.gov/bill/118th-con…

Trump campaign sure is sensitive about no longer even winning a majority of the popular vote. They actually sent out a press email to reporters today demanding that Trump's "mandate" and "overwhelming victory" recognized. They can't handle that the margin was tiny.

so basically Loeffler (former CEO of crypto company Bakkt) and her husband Sprecher (current CEO of intercontinental exchange, which majority owns Bakkt) are selling Bakkt to Trump’s Truth Social and then conveniently being awarded a cabinet position, cool cool cool

I have repeatedly made this point, again and again and again: The vast majority of waste, fraud, abuse, and overbearing, job-killing regulation is not in the federal government. It's the planning bureaucrats in your local city hall and zoning board.
