Happy #VeteransDay from all of us at NASA Armstrong! We are grateful for our veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and selflessness! 🇺🇸
#OTD in 1962, an engine failure forced NASA X-15 research pilot Jack McKay to make an emergency landing at Mud Lake, Nevada. McKay suffered back injuries but was eventually able to resume X-15 pilot duties, making 22 more flights.
The X-15 hypersonic research program @NASAArmstrong left a lasting legacy✨From 1959 to 1968, a total of 199 flights provided groundbreaking data that advanced both aviation & space exploration. 🚀 ✈️ For more @NASAhistory: go.nasa.gov/4fFuhP4 #NationalAviationHistoryMonth
Get your motor runnin' 🎶 @NASA has started engine run tests on its quiet supersonic X-59 aircraft! ✈️ Engine runs are a critical step as the team gets closer to the historic first flight of the X-plane! 🔗: go.nasa.gov/4ek7Mhd
#OTD in 1958, John "Jack" McKay made the last flight in the X-1E, the final model flown of the X-1 series. Today, it is now a gatekeeper in front of NASA Armstrong. #NationalAviationHistoryMonth
Every November, we observe #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth by celebrating our Native American colleagues at NASA. Join us as we uplift and support their voices and work to foster a more inclusive and equitable workplace. go.nasa.gov/3Ajgdvv
