1/4 Q’s for your #endometriosis surgeon: - Is Endo your primary specialism? - Do you excise or ablate? - How many surgeries do you do per year? - How many complex surgeries do you do per year (incl bowel resection, thoracic etc) - What are your complication rates?

Legal action re: #endometriosis is difficult to pursue (anywhere) for many reasons. Props to the Norwegian pt in tweet below. However there was an another successful case 4yrs ago in Nottingham. Things change but care hardly ever seems to improve. 🤷🏼‍♀️ bbc.com/news/uk-englan…

“Clear scans”, with a 7cm endometrioma. I’ve seen this numerous times. Make it make sense. Why is awareness of clinical signs of #endometriosis so low? Why is any sort of pelvic pain so easily dismissed? While this disease isn’t malignant, neither is it benign.

Pt presents to A&E w severe symptoms. Abt to be dismissed w ibuprofen & then emergency appendectomy which reveals severe disease. Appendix ovaries bladder & bowel strangled. 7cm endometrioma. “Clear scans” On hormone suppression for 4yrs. NO👏DRUG👏HALTS👏DISEASE #endometriosis

There was so much fraud in moving lupron from Prostatic cancer to endo treatment, it never should have seen the light of day, I know this as I read the court ordered analysis of that data, which when presented to the court, Tap?ABBVIE got a court order to suppress as proprietary

This is very worrying, like they are trying to slide the device in the back door by targeting private aesthetic and women’s clinics. There is no trial data, only two papers to support this device, both poorly designed, open and not RCT double blind. #endometriosis

@endosure is still getting traction in the UK via some clinics which is a concern. Yes we need support for Endo patients but this product is not the one.

This is really concerning and yet another example of monetising patients’ pain. That these tests should be offered alongside Botox is astonishing. Endometriosis needs specialist care in a specialist setting.

A concern here is it’s being offered by clinics that aren’t endo centres, some aren’t even gyn clinics (for eg a private Aesthetic surgery clinic in London). Critically what are they then recommending their pts in terms of care? We need specialists, not alleged “rogue operators”
