My 2 cents on McDonald's 1 - it's illegal for franchisors to set prices 2 - restaurant price increases exceeded CPI due to labor inflation (minimum wage increases, FAST Act) and because the government undercounts inflation @ewarren @SenBobCasey @RonWyden $MCD

Switzerland's tax rate is 18.6% vs. 24.2% in the US and the OECD average of 24.9%.
A couple of FED rate cuts won't help low-income consumer spending. Not one bit. In fact, by re-igniting inflation it may do more harm than good. There's no catalyst that will improve low-income spending. Hopefully weakness doesn't spread to middle-income consumers.
In F2Q Starbucks only had enough potato cheddar and chive bakes to roll out to 2k stores and in 3Q they ran out of pearls for the energy refreshers. What a disaster. On the bright side they didn't mention overnight sales or a 4-week app upgrade cycle on this call LOL

McDonald's says customer visits to fast food has "meaningfully slowed" but says that "factors within our control" contributed to its weakness last quarter. "Most notably our value execution." Company says it is taking "meaningful actions" to assert its value leadership. $MCD
