The actual damage the Reagan right did to left economics was by appropriating the concept of “supply side” to mean corporate and upper income welfare. They injected a class valence into the concept Confused language leads to confused understanding which leads to confused policy.

I once did a panel on "supply side liberalism" and afterward talked to the climate program officer of a major liberal foundation. She lamented how hard it was to fund good supply stuff because of pushback from EJ groups. I was like "But aren't you the one writing the checks??"

There’s this thing called “MRP nervousness” in SCM tech, which is where small changes in demand propagate through the system and, bc of the bullwhip effect and algorithmic calculations of resource needs, produce wild swings throughout the supply chain. MRP nervousness everywhere.

I'd be more interested to hear from one person on the left who would NOT admit to the truth of this banal observation.

Really interesting point he made around how if they can get consumers to buy breast meat (boneless wings and sandwiches) it really helps ease the vol for buying wings. Going to encourage people to start ordering boneless now so I can eat wings cheaper

The nice thing about the other site is that if you say something that pisses people off, and they start bullying you, you just close the tab.

wow, odds of a December rate cut are down to just 55%

Today's Empire Fed Manufacturing Survey saw the second biggest one-month jump in history. The only bigger one was in summer 2020, coming out of the Covid shutdown.

The second most unseemly aspect: the posters dunking on Polis who were just previously lecturing Democrats to be more inclusive and less contemptuous of those they might disagree with It was a dumb tweet but forgive and move on
