10 years ago today --> the first day of the IA! THANK YOU to the students, teachers, administrators, and parents who have continued to make the IA and the IA Online thrive. What a wonderful journey it has been with all of you! @fdrinnovate instagram.com/reel/CvcKPeTow…
When you burn people out, you push them out. Stars are the first to leave—they have the most opportunities. The solution is not to pile on the perks. It’s to pinpoint the root causes of overload and design more manageable jobs. If you want to keep people, stop exhausting them.
Here are our three papers on ways to use AI for teaching. Bosses who insult and intimidate don't get results. They leave people scarred. Data: when NBA players have abusive coaches, they play more poorly for the rest of their careers—and commit more technical fouls. Weak leaders make people weaker. Strong leaders make people stronger.
Inspiring to see the @iborganization make such a bold move here towards more project-based, transdisciplinary learning! This pilot has huge potential, especially partnering with UWC. @JoeBonnici @KurtWittig

When teachers teach young children not to ask questions, it is not surprising that high-performing students studied by American researchers in 2013 were found to be less curious, because they saw curiosity as a risk to their results.
Big study: curiosity is an important predictor of acad achievemt across the board but esp. for low-income kids: is.gd/zLBk8u. Painfully ironic given the curiosity-killing practices (scripted direct instruction, behavior management, etc.) that such kids get in spades.
