Here's an easy way to give your kids a more play-based childhood. Just designate a time each week for free play at a local playground or park, and ONE parent each week is there, at a distance, not supervising. Collective action! @LetGrowOrg businessinsider.com/mom-rotates-wi…

This thread is truly touching and elevating. My vagus nerve got a workout.

It's time to cleanse your timeline with this wholesome thread 🧵 1. This is so wholesome memory 🥺

I was on CBS Mornings today, giving an update on the movement to roll back the phone-based childhood, and making an appeal to Americans to ask their congresspeople to pass KOSA by Christmas (the Kids Online Safety Act). It is stuck in the House. cbsnews.com/video/social-p…

Now that schools are going phone-free, we have to ask about the computers and tablets kids are given in schools. Do they help, or distract? We're starting a series on ed tech at AfterBabel.com. Jared Cooney Horvath says: They distract. afterbabel.com/p/the-edtech-r…

People have to stop calling the police to report children walking around outside without adult supervision. We have to make it normal again for kids to be out in the world. Crime rates are way down since the 1980s. (The predators are mostly online now.) From @FreeRangeKids

Police handcuffed Brittany Patterson in front of three of her four children for the crime of allowing her youngest son to walk less than a mile away. reason.com/2024/11/11/mom…
