It’s course eval season & I’ve seen people tweeting about if/how to tell students about biases (gender, race etc.). There’s mixed evidence on if telling students about bias mitigates it. If you want to talk about it, here is a 2 page summary of the lit. dropbox.com/s/ue84i44ixsfy…

🤣 I just found this sattire account and omg I’m laughing and crying at the structural inequality. 😭

"I'm sorry but referring to a mixed group as girls or gals is obviously gender-neutral. Getting annoyed about things like this is stupid. Focus on the real issues!!" Claire, CEO

Happy #EarthDay !! My awesome grad students @AnderVee & @AlgrenMikaela painted a summary of our research on #sustainability of biobased products. As they so aptly showed, Green isn’t Always Green.

All these conferences going in person this summer. Please keep the hybrid option. There are so many of us #AcademicTwitter parents who aren’t going to be traveling bc kids aren’t vaccinated. Please don’t contribute to making our covid productivity gap even wider. @ASEEDiversity

I LOVE our #HelluvaEngineer s!! Placing an order now!! @DiversityMines

I deserve a 🏅. Kept my cool when yet another white guy said, this #DiversityandInclusion stuff doesn’t belong in a discussion of #STEM research recommendations to (insert major federal agency). DEI belongs in STEM and should be an expectation for all federally funded research.

🤣😂🤣

Happy 4 year anniversary to the best interview of all time

We are hiring in renewable energy! #AcademicTwitter @coschoolofmines We’re hiring 4 tenure track positions. All STEM fields related to renewable energy encouraged to apply! It’s a really great place to live and work. And we are deeply committed to DEI. jobs.mines.edu/en-us/job/4947…

Hi, it's me, your neighborhood reasonable adult. I heard Dr. Seuss books were "banned" in a Virginia school district, which surprised me! So, I did what any reasonable adult would do with internet access: I looked it up to get official details. (thread)

This. Also, everyone should get a raise, from expected to exemplary. #AcademicTwitter

I feel that, this year, employee reviews should just have one question. "Did you totally lose your shit?" and if the answer is no, you get "Exemplary" and if yes, you get "Expected."
