“Each day the fighting continues, the Sudanese are being robbed of the peace they cherish, the lives they are entitled to, and the future they deserve.” A statement by the heads of @iascch humanitarian organizations, with three key calls to action: 👇🏻 bit.ly/3DWShME
While circumstances can be demanding, commitment from COR Comm; Mr. Musa Ali Atroon, continues in support of our operations in Blue Nile, UNHCR Damazine was happy to receive his timely visit to strengthen joint activities on ground and to coordinate with state authorities
100 days of conflict in #Sudan. We urge all parties to protect civilians and facilitate access. Lifesaving assistance is vital to prevent further displacement. UNHCR and partners are working to protect and assist refugees, displaced and hosts. bit.ly/3Oq9gwJ

#WorldRefugeeDay at Camp 6, Wad Al Mahi, Blue Nile, lots of themed celebrations to mark the day, simple message from their hearts; Everyone Needs Peace in Sudan!
On #WorldRefugeeDay, a powerful message from #Sudan📽️ In just 2 months, 460K+ Sudanese were #ForcedToFlee due to the conflict, while Sudan hosts over 1 million refugees. Now, more than ever, Sudan🇸🇩 needs our support. Let's come together for PEACE🕊️and provide vital assistance.
Happy to welcome visit of UNHCR AHC Raouf Mazou and UNHCR Sudan Rep Axel Bisschop to Wadi Halfa, much needed at a critical time, on ground to understand plight of those fleeing violence, seeking safety but facing challenges, rally support from all actors
The world must not turn away from what's happening in #Sudan - a catastrophe. Over 2 million people ripped from their homes & now in search of safety. At today's High-Level Pledging event, we will call for much more funding to support them - the needs are profound & urgent.
Fleeing fighting in Sudan, over 210,000 people like Nyarik and Laila have sought refuge in #Egypt. UNHCR and partners are on the ground in Aswan and Cairo to support the new arrivals.
May be far but proud of every member of Team UNHCR Damazine!!! We keep doing our best whatever the circumstances #Sudan
Taking action in Blue Nile State💪 Distributing relief items like kitchen sets, solar lamps and plastic sheets to 1,700 families who returned from South Sudan and Ethiopia before fighting started. The conflict in #Sudan has increased the need for urgent humanitarian assistance.
Life in Wadi Halfa on Sudan Egypt border is challenging by the day, with continuous flow of new arrivals seeking safety. To ease needs, UNHCR Wadi Halfa provided non food items to 84 families at Earth & Mining Sci College, more planned at sites around Wadi Halfa, UNHCR #Sudan
⚠ People continue to flee the conflict in #Sudan🇸🇩. Over 3️⃣5️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ have already left the country in search of protection in the neighbouring countries. 📢 Let us continue raising our voices for PEACE🕊️
Revered footballer, Jadalla, 80, sightless but strong, fled Omdurman, recalls loud noises that violated his life. Now in Wadi Halfa among thousands seeking safety, survives with little, pleads to be allowed to cross the border, his documents now invalid, his greatest obstacle
From Cairo, following his meeting with Sudanese refugees, who fled the conflict to #Egypt, UNHCR HC @FilippoGrandi strongly appeals to the international community not to forget them & countries hosting them.
At the Egyptian border post in Qustul, the main entry point for refugees from Sudan, I appealed to Egypt to keep the door open to those fleeing — and to international donors to urgently support ongoing relief efforts by the authorities, local communities and aid agencies.
Sudanese refugees shared some harrowing stories today in #Cairo with the @Refugees High Commissioner @FilippoGrandi As the largest host of arrivals from #Sudan, #Egypt has received around 160K including more than 153K Sudanese.
The generals fighting each other in Sudan should listen to the tragic stories I heard today from Sudanese refugees fleeing horrific violence. If the generals truly cared for their people they would stop fighting now. Aid organizations can help but the solution is in their hands.
