I was inspired to see young men & women refugees use skills learned in the camps to repair electronic items🪛 a livelihood initiative promoting green thinking + environmental conservation. Empowering refugees through green innovation = key to a better future for all 🌱 #COP29

In South Sudan floods have impacted over 1.3M people, blocking supply routes - even in refugee settlements. In Maban, we are providing cash assistance to refugees, including those affected by floods, to meet their hygiene needs. 💵 gives dignity during a crisis. 🙏 to @StatePRM

Today in Renk, South Sudan, I met families newly arrived from Sudan, chased by one of the most brutal wars on earth. The humanitarian effort here is huge, but a massive increase in arrivals would be difficult to manage — a real possibility which only ending the war can prevent.

Certainly: "Reflecting on 30 years since the genocide against the Tutsi began, we honor the lives lost and the survivors' resilience. Rwandans show us the power of remembrance and the unwavering commitment to prevent such horrors from repeating.

Today, 30 years from the day the genocide against the Tutsi started,  we are here to remember & tell the world that Rwandans are committed to voice out that despite what is happening all over the world, such atrocities should never happen again.

Since the very beginning of the crisis, our position has always been, and continues to be, centered on the firm belief that more assistance is needed in Gaza—not less. Today, we’re stepping up our efforts with an additional $40M to help the most vulnerable Palestinian civilians.
