solely drinking water out of disposable plastic bottles is enormously lower-class coded, in large part because running tap water through a filter and then waiting for it to cool in the fridge selects for some minimal ability to delay gratification and anticipate future needs.

what i am learning by these comments is that americans utterly loathe sink water but are also unwilling to use a filter so the solution is to constantly buy plastic bottles of water for every day single use. never mind the heinous waste, cost and microplastics lol

looks like we have now entered into the “reliving 2020’s greatest debates” stage of grief

Something that remains true even though some loud anti-woke voices keep saying it isn't: 2+2 doesn't always equal 4.

we’re about 2 elections away from normies getting introduced to Vapnik–Chervonenkis dimension

16 keys it is

this election really was the passing of the baton from polls/modelers to prediction markets. might be an overcorrection but it seems clear they’ll be a permanent part of the discourse going forward.

The one silver lining: We probably won’t have to ever talk about polling ever again.

this, but unironically

they are selling dollars for 99.7 cents on polymarket

we’ll see if the tails burn me this time around
