Anyone else doing cells right now? Students can fill this in easily: “Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell.” Now, ask them what a powerhouse is. What do they say? Mine said, “A really strong person.”

Can a course be “rigorous” without a textbook? Why or why not?

Went to a countertop showroom today. The salesperson said, “This one is a dolomite. It’s kinda like marble, but you probably haven’t heard of dolomite before.”

First day of break (I submitted grades yesterday) and I cleaned up my whole email inbox on my phone. I hope the students who made fun of my 10,000+ messages notification recognize this minor achievement.
