I’m expecting schools to be putting in Prevent referrals for any of their children on these “protests”. Not showing British Values. I expect parents to be contacted by social services teams. But that’s not what will happen.

My definition of a great teacher? Stop this endless expectation of ‘better’. A great teacher works well enough to ensure students in each class they teach learn well over time. That each individual they teach feels valued. That each colleague they have is glad they work with them

The SEND system is buckling on every level. It takes far too long to get an initial assessment. The number of pupils with EHCPs has risen and funding hasn't kept pace. It all causes distress to children, families and school staff, and they deserve better. theguardian.com/education/2024…
