Anti-‘Critical Race Theory’ laws are working. Teachers are thinking twice about how they talk about race ti.me/3nut18e 📝: Olivia B. Waxman (@OBWax)
Abortion restrictions do not result in less abortions but increase riskier unsafe abortions that threaten the health and lives of women, transgender people, and non-binary people. In addition, the greatest impact will be felt by those who are low-income Black, Indigenous, & POC.
It's time to put more teeth into the "Well Regulated" part of the 2nd Amendment. There's been 198 mass shootings in 2022 so far. npr.org/2022/05/15/109… #TBATs #BuffaloMassacre #DisarmHate @AZBatsA @NewMexicoBATs @UtahBATs @CaliBats @WaBATs_ @hawaiibats @NVBats @OregonBATs

As a teacher, we left our campus on Mar. 13 for "2wks." On my birthday, April 4, a parade went by my house, one of the first, I think. Honking and posters and the faces of my sweet friends. I bawled and laughed and I knew it was all different. #TheMoment
Can we get 2,000 Retweets on this? We're trying to get to 250k followers before Monday. We're going all in for Georgia. TV, digital, billboards & cash to local organizers. We need more followers to expand our base for maximum impact. Please help with a RT and spreading the word!
OPINION: A lot has changed since George Floyd's death, but not near enough. abcn.ws/3mfmhZK
The election will be over when all the votes are counted.
All we gotta say is... put #schoolsandcommunitiesfirst and #YesOn15
You can’t send students and staff back to campus DURING a pandemic because of the social-emotional benefits of in-person learning BEFORE the pandemic. The things that made school socially and emotionally enriching before the pandemic won’t happen if we’re sent back now.
Tonight @ABC7 at 11 Regents of the #UniversityofCalifornia announce they’ve filed a suit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security & ICE in response to new guidelines out Monday which won’t allow #internationalstudents to stay in U.S. if they’re only taking classes online.
Distance learning isn't great but it beats the "some kids & staff will get sick and die" aspect of in-person learning. I do wish the advocates for reopening would give us a specific figure for how many kids, staff, & family members they're willing to let die in order to reopen.
Or... Don't go back to school until there are no new cases in the COUNTY for 2 weeks. And then take all those precautions... Or less precautions would be necessary.
