My co-founder Chandra Narayanan's quote has become something of a product-builder's mantra for us: Diagnose with data and treat with design. There is so much packed into those sentences! Thread going deeper 👇 (1/15)

When someone says "that's an unskilled job" we should ask them to go do it while we watch.

Things like this are why the arbitrary delineations of “unskilled jobs” don’t hold. All labour takes effort and skill - so there are no unskilled jobs, just jobs that aren’t appreciated so don’t get training or resourcing in society. twitter.com/TooSatisfied/s…

Last week, I spoke with dozens of people who credit Michael Evans with turning the vision for the Moynihan Train hall into a reality. Then, 10 months before opened, he took his own life. This is his story. nytimes.com/2021/01/15/nyr…

I see much positive coverage of Moynihan Station. I hope that the life, work & memory of Michael Evans is noted in this. He, more than anyone, was responsible for the success that you see so many taking credit for now. #MoynihanTrainHall buildingcongress.com/news/in-memori…

via @alchto3: Super thoughtful thread on re-opening K-12 schools that incorporates evidence, broad range of considerations, and related trade-offs. Also sounds incredibly daunting given our inability to successfully adopt simple measures like mask wearing.

I've received a number of replies and DMs about what people can do to dismantle systematic racism and replace it with a system of justice. Specifically, how can you become an Anti-Racist in tech and support Black technologists?

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from my non-Black friends about how to be a better ally to Black people. I suggest unlearning and relearning through literature as just one good jumping off point, and have broken up my anti-racist reading list into sections:
