Tomorrow 5pm @OxUniMaths is my first public event about my new book Around the World in 80 Games. Always an exciting moment to finally share the book with audiences. Official publication isn't till 12 October but there will be the chance to get your hands on books early.

Playing games. A pejorative term, at best just entertainment. But games have been played for centuries, not just for fun, but to help us interpret the world. Especially mathematical games. @MarcusduSautoy's Public Lecture, Oxford, 3 Oct, 5pm. Book: maths.ox.ac.uk/node/65368

Our press prototypes have been winging their way to across different countries. It has been so exciting to see their responses captured as the multiplayer and solo modes hit tables (such as these wonderful photos by Lily, who runs @ play_it_solo on In-sta-gram).

21X by @naylorjames is absolutely bonkers in its ingenuity; it's Blackjack but with formulas, where N is the number of cards you have and X is a number of your choosing! My fave bit is they've invited notable mathematicians to invent a card for the game. Coming to KS soon!

The @PlayNaylorGames published product range on display in our office... pretty cool to see these altogether for the first time!

I'm feeling very excited about this one from @MarcusduSautoy The mathematical underpinning of games is fascinating stuff... and I'm lucky enough to be able to see an advance copy shortly. I think this is one game designers, in particular, should not miss.

🌍 21X Contributor Marcus du Sautoy has a new book coming out! "Around the World in 80 Games" explores the math, strategy & culture of games. And games don't get much mathsier than 21X. Don't forget the Kickstarter next month! 🎲📖 #GameOn #Mathematics #NaylorGames

last weekend I went to Denmark with @Sautteen and, on top of a 2km sand dune which moves 18m north-east each year (which sounds like the beginning of a maths exam question), this happened:

I had fun coming up with a design for a card for this fantastic new algebraic take on blackjack. The new game 21x would be a good candidate for a sequel to my forthcoming book Around World in 80 Games @4thEstateBooks @BasicBooks

I also got a chance to speak with @naylorjames and @JayaBaldwin from @PlayNaylorGames - at least for a short while. They're upcoming game 21x is gaining a lot of popularity. There is now a card designed by @MarcusduSautoy Go and check it out! naylorgames.com/pages/21x 3/8
