My Alma mater Olivet Nazarene University hosted the Illinois Christian homeschool association and they had Ken Ham as a key vote speaker. So that’s cool, I guess. Not only are we pushing out affirming clergy, but a leading University is giving voice to anti-intellectuals.
Preaching on Exodus this summer and there are too many current connections. Demonizing immigrants. Forgetting the history of the good immigrants have done. Overlooking the gifts of women (looking at you SBC). And, a tyrant who rises off of the hate of others.
The world needs to know that this exists. 😂 Did I happen to oversee this project? Yupp. Did it miss the mark? Yupp. Did we still give it away? Yupp. #maybewhyimnolongernazarene

Many of my friends who deconstructed also left the church. Practicing my faith in community is one of the main reasons why I still have faith. Their story and my story aren’t so different. Let’s have grace for those who needed to step away. God hasn’t forgotten you.

Today is a bad body image day. It’s really easy to spiral. One thing that helps. Focusing on all the things my body is capable of doing. Which when taking inventory, is quite the list. Our bodies are good. Our bodies are gifts.
I never tweet about this but… Sex is all about intimacy, connection, and safety. A place where shame can be absent. Porn erodes intimacy, connection, and it moves us away from safety. All that is left is shame. It’s not worth it. If you struggle, reach out and get help.
When position out paces character, sin isn’t too far behind. Whatever profession you find yourself in, do not skip the hard work of character development. If you aren’t ready for that promotion or that space of more influence and responsibility, it’s okay to stay put.
