Starting early-2018. Combining fieldwork, subsurface data, and numerical modelling; it’ll be epic! Contact @stratleeds, @SedLogic, @seis_matters or Prof Flint (@man_basins) for further details.

It's a wrap folks! The last days we moved from the Ainsa-Jaca to Basque-Cantabrian basins, from proximal to distal deep-water systems, looking at different types of interaction between gravity-flow deposits and seabed topography. Thanks to the Slope5 and Lobe3 team and sponsors!

😯 Big day in @lobefringe-towers! Sponsors update meeting, featuring @deepwater_zobes, @Dostrelith, @Strat_traps, @SedTIMentology, @stratleeds, @SedLogic, @seis_matters, and Prof. Flint! Lots of exciting work to present on submarine lobes and complex slopes! 👊🏾👌🏻

Amazing @lobefringe fieldtrip in the #NeuquenBasin looking at stunning deep-water lobes outcrops of the #LosMolles with a fantastic group of sponsors with so much discussions on #dirtysandstone #lobefringes #syntopostrifttransition and of course #Malbec

And so the Neuqeun basin Lobe3 sponsors workshop comes to a close. Thanks to all the sponsors who made it out. Looking forward to seeing you all in the Karoo next year!

Today we had some overqualified profess(or)ional poster holders. 😂 We also saw some lovely deepwater lobes that make up part of @Naughty_Onlaps PhD.

Putting our sponsors to work logging the lobes of the Los Molles in the Jardinera area of the Neuquen basin. Not a bad spot for lunch either.

It is a wonderful section. We are thinking that the angular relationships up the road above the main muddy debrite are related to thrusting at the base of a slide - the dipping beds are tabular and seems to repeat section. Needs detailed logging.

LOBES!

.@lobefringe data collection NEVER stops! @Strat_traps and Damjan do battle with super-high 💨 in the Neuquen Basin, 🇦🇷. Well, those deepwater clastics ain’t gonna log themselves! 👊🏼😲

Some Lower Jurassic ammonite swag* from the Los Molles Fm mudstones. *N.B. this is not “swag”, as it’s illegal to remove paleotological materials from the province without prior permission. Beautiful nonetheless though! 😍

As @stratleeds and @seis_matters head home, Damjan and @Strat_traps prepare to continue their PhD studies of deepwater rocks in the Neuquen Basin, 🇦🇷. We’d say they have a lovely field area 😍!!! #Lobe3

Under brooding skies, the @lobefringe team get to work on the deepwater rocks of the Neuquen Basin, 🇦🇷. Thanks @sedresq for the logging sheets! 🙌🏻🙌🏾 #Lobe3 #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #LotsOfRocks

😲 Woah! Luverly laminae in deep(ish)water classics in the Neuquen Basin, Argentina. We’ve got our hands full with all the cool facies, geometries, and spatial and temporal relationships in this basin!

Tom Cruise, we mean @stratleeds assembles the #stratcopter ahead of some challenging flying conditions in the Chachil and Catán-Lil depocentres of the Neuquen Basin. This tech gives amazing insights into the hard-to-see ‘big geology’ of this basin! 😍
