Very proud of my old man today!

76 years ago, when Operation Overlord began, 70,000 Irish citizens were in British uniforms. I would like to remember a few. Captain (later Major) Redmond Cunningham, from Waterford, received the Military Cross on Sword Beach. Named for his godfather, IPP leader John Redmond.

Crossing between command posts at 11:30 that night, hewas hit by six rounds fired from a Bren Gun by a nervous Canadian sentry: 4 in his leg, 1 in the chest, and 1 thru his right middle finger. Bullet to his chest was stopped by a silver cigarette case given to him by his brother

Uh oh..

A cull. Left to wither and die.

On 21/3/2020 Nursing Home residents were booted off the waiting list for tests. GP's were instructed NOT to seek tests for them and to assume that if one resident at the Nursing home has Covid, then 'they all have it'. They were treated like livestock.

Leo Varadkar’s ‘picnic’ in the park against his own government guidelines has been picked up by publications across the world. Now reported by BBC & New York Times. Not good enough to make the 6.1 news yesterday though. Only mention on RTÉ’s website defends him. Small country!

#TrumpWontRun Been looking at Trump at press conferences. I don’t think he is very well. Got a feeling he might not make the starting line for the Presidential Election. Good or bad for GOP🤔

No beach tonight- strong SW winds and low visibility with damp sea mist. Quick mile spin with Muttley instead.
