RIP Nanci Griffith. The Real Deal.

Please read and pass along with your thoughts. This is an extremely important issue. Thank you, Mr. Sepkowitz, for bringing this to the forefront. amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/08/02…

Kent Sepkowitz writes that while the headlines about the Delta variant have largely focused on the rising infection rates, the fact that some children have gotten seriously ill from the virus is a problem worthy of real debate. cnn.com/2021/08/02/opi…

We saw during the Kavanaugh confirmation that @KamalaHarris doesn’t have the temperament or judgment to serve as President of the United States. From her angry interruption of the Chairman within 7 seconds to her bizarre smears, @SenKamalaHarris puts her ambitions over all else.

I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate.

Instruction will begin on Sept. 8 for most schools and will remain all virtual through at least through October 27. 10tv.com/mobile/article…

That's ineresting. I wasn't aware of that. It's not a mistake people make here in France when learning english. They do make some common mistakes but I never saw that one. Out of curiosity, any idea where it comes from?

Feels like a lot of plans were made (open disneyworld, nba bubble, schools) with the assumption cases would be falling or even the disease was fully suppressed and it’s not and they’re just pushing through with it

I'm curious if other people have had something in them break the last few weeks, where you realize "normal," or even a rough approximation of it is gone for a good long while. We've always known that at some level but I feel it intensely and viscerally right now.

Masks make sense. Those who argue otherwise make no sense. I'm sorry, but as someone in a high at-risk category, I'm not ready to shuffle off this mortal coil just because someone defines refusing to put a cloth over their mouth for a couple months in public as "freedom."

Oh, okay, then. No need for a neuropsych/dementia workup at all. This all makes perfect sense in context. We see here a steel-trap mind at work, a stable genius in action, the likes of which the world has never seen. The nation should be grateful.
