My daughter’s school continues to support this practice of timed tests… especially in math. Hoping this data is considered across Edmonton public schools. @EPSBNews
Timed tests don’t measure what students know. They assess how students perform under stress. Data: tests under time pressure underestimate the abilities of girls—especially in math, where test anxiety is high. If students can't finish a test, make it shorter or give more time.
Help me complete my research! The Inclusion of Francophone Rights Holders in French Immersion Programs in Edmonton, Alberta, Pro00122373 Are you a French immersion teacher, administrator or system leader or do you know any in Edmonton, Alberta? We want to hear from you/them!
Subway in Magrath/Terwillegar Heights Edmonton,AB wants a kind and hard working 22 year old international NAIT student to work 1-2 weeks during orientation for free…is this allowed? I will not be supporting this location anymore for sure. #Subway #albertalabourlaw
Congrats @darrenlebeuf and @ashley__barron!

A truck is not a speech. A horn is not a voice. An occupation is not a protest. A blockade is not freedom, it blocks the liberty of all. A demand to overthrow a government is not a dialogue. The expression of hatred is not a difference of opinion. A lie is not the truth.
If schools where you live are NOT an entire mess right now, please respond and tell us why. And how. Be as specific as possible. Something has to be going well somewhere.
Everything good that’s happened to me in my career has come through collaboration, not competition. There’s a lot more to be gained from learning and listening to others than trying to beat them out.
The claim that FRENCH IMMERSION is ‘the right fit’ for some but not all students is unsubstantiated by the available research evidence. What the research DOES indicate is that with the provision of appropriate support, most students are successful. #inclusion #equitableaccess
Could it be that this miserable election actually produced the national vax mandate that ends this monster ? (and which otherwise would not have happened)? If so , serendipity has taken on new meaning.
This is a game-changer. Only fully vaxxed can fly through a Canadian airport as of Nov 30. No more negative tests. I like the idea of knowing I’m flying with only vaccinated people. This is leadership. apple.news/AdhWR6FBDSJOLo…
BREAKING: Edmonton Public School requiring all staff to be fully vaccinated or show a negative test every 72 hours. Tenants, volunteers, contractors and other on-site partners are also must be vaccinated. The policy does not apply to students. #yeg #Yyc #ableg #Covid19ab
Honestly, this is really hard to watch right now. But all Albertans should. And never forget. #ableg
On the latest @WestofCentreCBC episode, @sunrickbell said he re-watched Kenney's "Open for Summer" announcement. "Go to YouTube and listen," Bell said. "I didn't realize how WILD that particular press conference was until I heard it again." I took his advice. Some highlights:
Kenney proposes two-tier dying system #ableg thebeaverton.com/2021/09/kenney…
34 Albertans died in the last 24 hours. 1,682 Albertans tested positive in the last 24 hours. ICUs are receiving harassing phone calls. Our healthcare system is in free fall & collapsing. @UCPCaucus - your silence & inaction is abhorrent. Your are all complicit in our demise.
Can someone explain how people think their immune system is powerful enough to deal with a virus that has killed over 4.5 million people but not powerful enough to deal with a vaccine that over 3.4 billion people (basically half the world) has already received AND survived?
If I were to be given one pandemic wish, it would be that nurses would finally be recognized as the bedrock of medical care, and given the respect their absolutely indispensable work deserves.
