health, body, the state, trans stuff, asking questions like “how much of US medical practice is based on eugenics, theology, and vibes?”

Genocide is always wrong and always worth resisting.

Yes, Republicans passed abortion bans that are killing people. But hospital administrators are the ones choosing to OVER comply with bans and telling doctors to wait to intervene until the last possible moment, instead of saying, take care of your patients and we will back you.

I think I'd be more excited for #ASA2024 if I could remember the last time I flew without someone in gloves touching my genitals. #JustTransThings

HAPPENING NOW- a multi-racial, multi-faith collective of residents across Missouri is protesting an @AIPAC fundraising dinner in Jefferson City to say AIPAC’s money to further genocide in Palestine is not welcome in our state! #AIPACoutofMO

Nick Schroer made it illegal for Missouri educators to categorically condemn Nazis because it’s “too woke”

Never Back Down. When anti-Semitic protestors shout us down, yell in our ears through bullhorns, call for murder from river to sea, show them how factually and morally incorrect their argument is. We will never back down. We will stand & fight #moleg @MOFreedomCaucus #Israel

Especially if you have the mistaken impression that people in academia are better.

Going to graduate school? One of the best things you can do to prepare is disabuse yourself of the laughable notion that the humans who occupy academic spaces are substantially different from humans in any other space.

The structural hostility toward disabled residents and med students is a direct cause of discriminatory and inhumane treatment of disabled patients too.

To highlight how prevalent this is, I saw this happen when I was in training. A resident with #epilepsy had tonic-clonic seizures exacerbated by sleep deprivation, but instead of accommodations, they failed to finish training. #MedEd

If scientists thought of eugenics as science, they would have to actually grapple with the legacy of eugenics within their own fields. Discussions of eugenics within mainstream, reputable scientific journals also tend to favor apologetics like "a good idea that went too far"

one of the weirdest parts of that "what annoys you as an ER doc" thread was how many of them were criticizing people for coming in at 3am In most places, there are no other medical centers open at 3am where the hell else are people supposed to go?

J&J is working to extend a patent on a crucial drug-resistant TB medication that should expire in a few days. J&J's secondary patent is poised to cause an estimated six million people in the global south to avoidably die of TB. This attempt to reframe the issue will not work.

It is false to suggest—as some recently have—that our patents are being used to prevent access to SIRTURO® (bedaquiline), our medicine for MDR-TB. In fact, we have already entered into a collaboration with the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility (“GDF”)—the largest…

Universities that still aren't up to ADA standards introduced in 1990 are proactively investigating their responsibility to be more racist in admissions. Babes, just treat this like you treat liberatory laws and ignore it until you get sued eighteen times.

I'm not 100% sure why @WUSTL felt the need to email me to tell me that they "respect" the SCOTUS decision to dismantle affirmative action. I'm not a legal scholar but voluntarily affirming their respect for the decision feels unnecessary.

Lance Armstrong just wants to have a serious conversation about fairness in sports! He isn't being transphobic he just has a very serious demonstrated commitment to not cheating at sports!!!!

If police don’t want violence at protests/demonstrations, they could simply stay home.

If you write a piece that references skepticism around gender affirming care from *some* medical professionals and you don't contextualize that with the anti-trans bias and cisnormativity our culture and medical training/practice are swimming in, you're doing a bad job.

When we talk about the sociomedically normative patient… how many people are we talking about? #TikTok tiktok.com/t/ZTR3PLb9p/
