One thing most Americans don’t realize is that their founding revolution is barely studied at all overseas, and is not considered the violent birth of the liberal tradition that came to dominate the West. That honor goes to the French Revolution (for better or worse).
San Francisco schools banned kids from taking algebra in 8th grade in an attempt to cover up how badly they were educating kids. The ban predictably made kids worse at math, which the district promptly lied about and covered up. sfexaminer.com/forum/put-alge…
This is true and a real problem.
The Fed may or may not realize it but it has created a two-tier banking system: 1. Tier 1: Systemically Important Banks. These are the "too big to fail" biggest banks. If you have money there, it's a true deposit. You can't lose it. 2. Tier 2: Everyone Else. If you have money…
people are getting very confused about this whole Silicon Valley Bank / FDIC issue, so here's a thread: -Majority of accounts over $250k are BUSINESSES, not individuals -While FDIC is only required to pay out up to $250k, in practice, they tend to arrange a sale... 🧵 (1/?)
This is what they really care about. Notice also: "identifies as female." The language they use is also straight from the borg.

In 1958, Warren Buffett bought this house in Omaha for $32k which he still owns (it’s now worth $650k). If he instead slept on Charlie Munger’s couch and invested those funds into Berkshire Hathaway, it would be worth $1.2B. Lesson: Don’t buy real estate.

US paid $853 Billion in Interest for $31 Trillion Debt in 2022; More than Defense Budget in 2023. If the Fed keeps rates at at these levels (or higher) we will be at $1.2 trillion to $1.5 trillion in interest paid on the debt. The US govt collects about $4.9 trillion in taxes.
Nicholas Winton helped 669 Jewish children escape the Nazis. His efforts went unrecognized for 50 years. Then in 1988, while sitting as a member of a TV audience, he suddenly found himself surrounded by the kids he’d rescued, now adults. I like to remember this every Jan 27th.

There is no way Heaven, if it exists, can match the unadulterated joy of floating on velvety, tantalizingly untracked snow beneath a muted sun that backlights each snowflake, turning it into flecks of falling glitter that occasionally catches your eyelashes.

Reading this 2022 federal budget and just learned something that blows my mind… of the $637.7B allocated to Dept of Education, less than 10% is for K-12/SpecialEd. A whopping 88% ($561B) is for collegiate “financial aid “ (eg student loans) 🤯🤯🤯
