Went to a wedding this summer where my friend (groom) was found by his wife at yoga class

Places you can absolutely find your future wife at: - high end grocery stores - bookstores - church - farmers markets - pilates studio - twitter Places you will not find your future wife at: - bars - clubs - raves

What every voter should know about housing policy 1. Rents reflect the balance of supply of apartments and demand for those apartments in a given area. That’s it; there’s no magic. If you want lower rents, you can hope for a recession that destroys jobs and, therefore, demand.…

You can read Ong (and McLuhan) over and over and learn more each time

Since some people were talking a little bit about it again, I re-read Fr. Ong’s Orality And Literacy again over the weekend (Quick read. About 3 hours). It’s probably got some politically useful insights, but its relevance is far broader than that. Everyone should check it out.

What about 20 strikes and you are out?

Shoplifting is definitely serious, and it's an area where extremely few people do a lot of harm. For example: 0.00385% of New York's population were responsible for 33% of the shoplifting arrests in the city. 327 people being arrested more than 6,000 times in a year is insane.

Unfortunately we are going to pivot from one religion (woke) to another that is just as crazy

BREAKING: Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters announces that Oklahoma will become the first state in the United States to bring the Bible back into classrooms.

New life goal is to be blocked by Noah so I can be unblocked by Noah

The never-ending cycle continues: Noah Smith has unblocked me once again. (After blocking me, unblocking me, blocking me, unblocking me, following me, unfollowing me, and blocking me). I don't know why he does this, but I'm glad he's unblocked me because he's a good account.

It would be great if we could get wokeness and overregulation swept away without also getting compromised and incompetent people running the government. But I worry that's too much to hope for.

I nearly killed @hughhewitt Hugh: Everything Gaetz would say in his confirmation hearing would be under oath. Jim, do you think Gaetz is familiar with 18 U.S.C. 1001? Jim: Hugh, I don't think Gaetz is familiar with anything that involves the number 18.

Black right-wing influencer is the easiest grift in the world. Nothing compares.

New: Fox News had on Dom Lucre, a conspiracy theorist who has pushed QAnon-related conspiracy theories like Frazzledrip, adrenochrome, & claiming there was a trafficking network on Wayfair. He was labeled as a "journalist" by Fox during the appearance. mediamatters.org/fox-news/fox-n…

Of course this actually doesn’t save that much money. Entire federal payroll is 100bn I believe, federal budget is ~5 trillion

Vivek Ramaswamy's thought experiment for reducing the size of government on @lexfridman: "Day 1, anybody in the federal bureaucracy who's not elected, whose Social Security number ends in an odd number, you're out. [Day 2], of those who remain, if your Social Security starts in…

Oh stop it.

A reasonable explainer on why Docusign needs 7,000 employees: ▫️”Lets say most people use the product 5 times a year, but 1% of people sign something with it 10 times a day. US alone, that's 5*250m + 10*365*2.5m. About 10 billion in the US.” ▫️Assume US is above average and…

You can teach yourself all of this. Piles of amazing resources. Sounds like what you need is drive and perseverance

To get money, you need a job in AI. To get a job in AI you need to understand Cuda, Cloud computing, distributed systems, Pytorch/Jax, and Triton. To learn Cuda, Cloud computing, distributed systems, Pytorch/Jax, and Triton, you need money. Where is the on-ramp here?

I love this idea

If David Sacks is so convinced that Russia has no ambitions on taking more Ukrainian territory, how about providing a security guarantee where he is given as hostage to the Ukrainians, to be executed if Russia invades again in the future?

Someone tell this guy about ethanol

Something I've been thinking about: Something like 5-10% of American farm land is used for seed oil production. Then you have other small things like high fructose corn syrup. It seems that RFK Jr will be waging a holy war on seed oils, agricultural chemicals, and the like.…

If you find yourself arguing that your company will win just because your product is better, you should staple this chart to your shirt.

or knowingly selling sanctioned chips in China?

Ernst Young is paid by the client to certify. 10 times out of 10 they will work with you to the last drop to get you signed off on an audit. You have to basically be committing murder in broad day light for your own consultants to not sign off. It is HEAVILY implied by this…

12 of the 19mm people on the state live on that tiny island (and it's surrounding area) so... and if not for them (aka the grace of god) the rest of the state which is massively subsidized by that little island and the people like me to who large amount of taxes... anyway.

Funniest part about moving away from home was hearing that "New York is soooo liberal" No, we are a large state of conservatives held hostage for our tax dollars by a tiny island of insane people

so vote for harris?

Great hat
