Completely agree. There is an entire industry and coalition of grifters whose forecasts on AI this past decade have been universally wrong, and they had to be taken off the steering wheel. Obviously they didn’t like it.

The relevant legislation makes clear that the hallowed Northcote-Trevelyan principle of appointment by merit only applies to applicants from OUTSIDE the civil service. Useful!
