🚨 KAMALA GOES FULL YIMBY 🚨 “For years we have heard excuses about why America can’t build enough housing. Enough with the excuses, I’m going to cut the red tape and work with the private sector and local governments to speed up building and get the job done.”

It’s permitting week in the House of Representatives!

Awesome progress on bipartisan permitting reform efforts this week: 1. NEPA reform for forest management to fight wildfires passed the House 2. NEPA exemption for semiconductor fabs passed the House (and already passed the Senate)

We love to see a pro-worker + pro-innovation policy come to life! Now we need to pass @RepScottPeters bill to ban noncompete agreements into law!

🚨The FTC is finalizing a rule banning noncompete clauses for *all workers* regardless of income or industry. It will increase pay, new business formation, innovation -- and cut health care costs. It's one of the most important things the Biden Administration has done.

Huge win for San Diego! Amazing to see Team Peters’ tenacious work pay off👏🏼

🚨BREAKING: We just secured $156M to address cross-border sewage pollution! These funds keep us on track to double capacity at the South Bay plant and break ground this year. While the fight isn't over, this is a big step to realizing sewage-free beaches and pollutant-free air.

Big day for FERC watchers—confirmation hearing and monthly meeting. Also today, @SenatorHick and @RepScottPeters 👑 are introducing the SPEED & Reliability Act to accelerate interregional transmission permitting! Here’s what it does:

It’s simple: build more housing near transit 🏘️🚈🌿

"With housing and transportation costs collectively comprising nearly half the typical American household budget, better coordinating the two could do double duty when it comes to affordability." The inimitable @mnolangray on a vital topic: bloomberg.com/news/articles/… via @citylab

Last week, I officially filed paperwork to run for re-election in #CA50. I’m running to continue fighting for our shared values in Congress - climate action, equality, affordable healthcare, gun safety reform, and more. I look forward to the campaign ahead!

🚨🏠🚅 Reintroduced the Build More Housing Near Transit Act w/ @CathyMcMorriss, @SenBrianSchatz, & @SenatorBraun today. Our bill incentivizes low and middle-income housing construction near transit stops to ease the housing crisis & get cars off the road. scottpeters.house.gov/press-releases…

🚨BREAKING: @POTUS included $310M to fix the broken wastewater treatment plant in SD and tackle cross-border pollution in his emergency supplemental funding request to Congress. Last month, I requested this funding from congressional leaders with the support of my SD colleagues.

Two key Democrats are calling for permitting reform. Senator Angus King and Representative Scott Peters are 100% correct: “We must update our environmental laws to make it easier, not harder, to build the projects and infrastructure that will get us to net zero emissions.”

🚨The momentum continues: A bipartisan group of lawmakers in the House and Senate just introduced legislation to restrict non-compete agreements nationwide. This is pro-market, pro-worker, pro-innovation policy—and would cost taxpayers $0.

God, I love the house of representatives

Awesome to see @FTC making moves to ban noncompete agreements. Good for workers, good for the economy! Now Congress should pass @RepScottPeters Workforce Mobility Act to make this permanent 🙌🏼

This is a seismic moment for those of us working to make national noncompete reform a reality. Restricting noncompetes is good for American workers and employers alike, and will broadly boost dynamism and innovation. Competition is good! However, the work isn't finished yet. 1/
