I'm so grateful for all the incredible sacrifices our local Vietnam veterans and their families have made for all of us – so I was glad to host my first Vietnam War Commemoration Pinning Ceremony last week to honor their service and recognize Veterans Day.

How much more unhinged can Trump's nominees get?

This Native American Heritage Month, let’s recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of Native peoples, reflect on our country’s history, and recommit to ensuring Native American communities have the support they need.

It was great to join Mission Trails Regional Park's Eco Ambassadors program last week and chat with local students about what I’m doing in Congress to protect our environment for future generations.

Our LGBTQ+ veterans should be treated with dignity and respect and have access to all the support and services they’ve earned and deserve. I was so glad to recognize and thank some of San Diego's queer veterans at the Center’s LGBT Veterans Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony.

It was so meaningful to honor our Korean War veterans, their families, and those missing in action at this year’s Mt. Soledad Veterans Day Ceremony. I’m so thankful for all the sacrifices our veterans have made throughout history.

Reports that the RSF poisoned food in Sudan – where millions of people are experiencing famine – are shameful. The RSF and its external supporters – namely, the UAE – must be held accountable. That’s why the U.S. should cut off weapons to the UAE until they stop arming the RSF.

In general, giving Trump any new or expanded powers is a terrible idea. That’s why I voted against a bill tonight that would give Trump new powers to crush his political enemies and stifle dissent by shutting down non-profits he falsely claims “support terrorism.”

If this was you, don’t worry— I did the same thing during my orientation! h/t @kristin__wilson who couldn’t have been nicer and walked me to where I was going.

San Diego is home to so many military families who’ve sacrificed so much for all of us. This Military Family Appreciation Month, we need to continue making progress in improving their quality of life, especially expanding access to high-quality child care and housing.

These gun deaths are so tragic – and they’re preventable. That’s why I will keep working to pass common-sense laws that are proven to save lives like red flag laws, expanded background checks, and a federal assault weapons ban.

The rate of firearms deaths in several U.S. states is similar to places around the world that are battling civil unrest or bloody gang wars, a new report shows. wapo.st/3UxCLiR

I loved grabbing a burger with La Mesa American Legion Post 282 today to recognize and celebrate all that our country's veterans have done for us.

Our veterans help make San Diego the special place that it is. It was an honor to recognize their service and sacrifice at Miramar National Cemetery's Veterans Day Ceremony and I will continue working in Congress to deliver all the services and support they've earned and deserve.

It was so special to join El Cajon’s American Legion Post 303 – including Post Commander Michael Danier, and Sandy, a Vietnam Veteran – to recognize our community’s veterans. Thank you to everyone who has served our country so courageously.

No one should have to spend hours going from ER to ER to ER in search of life-saving care. We need to restore federal abortion protections so everyone can get the care they need – no matter where they live.  propublica.org/article/nevaeh…

This #VeteransDay, we remember the incredible service and sacrifices our veterans have made throughout history. I'm proud to represent so many veterans in San Diego, and I’ll keep working until we live up to everything that we’ve promised them.

Happy birthday to the @USMC! For 249 years, service members, military families, and veterans in the Marines have served and sacrificed to defend our freedoms. Today, and every day, we are so grateful.

I know many of us are feeling scared, worried, and alone right now. But one of the best things we can do is to stay connected with our family, loved ones, and community so we can break down the walls and misconceptions that divide us.
