Milestone achieved! Our paper on biophysical modelling and E/I ratio estimation is now out on PNAS! pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… Check out our short summary on Kudos link.growkudos.com/1e9chg5dekgand and the thread below 🧵👇 @bart_larsen @valerieJsydnor @sattertt @bttyeo

1/11 Super excited to share our latest preprint! 📢 We estimate a putative marker of whole-cortex excitation/inhibition (E/I) ratio that indexes cortical maturation in youth! Leveraging a large-scale biophysically plausible model, we can estimate E/I ratio in-vivo! 🧵

Check out our version 1.0 of the sample size-scan time calculator. Any feedback is welcome and stay tuned for more updates to come! 👇

Here's a preliminary release of our calculator to explore sample size and scan time to maximize individual-level prediction accuracy: leonoqr.github.io/ORSP_Calculato… Let us know if anything is unclear or if there's bugs. Your feedback is welcome. If you find this calculator helpful for…

Check out the latest update on our study! We dive into the nuances of the tradeoff between scan time and sample size in BWAS analyses. A special thanks to all the coauthors who contributed their datasets to make this possible!

Super excited about our revised study! 4 more datasets showing robustness across fMRI sequences, racial groups, disorders, lifespan, phenotypic domains & resting/task FC: doi.org/10.1101/2024.0… @Leon_Oo1 @ZShaoshi @csabaorban broke the lab's record with a 76-page response!

Check out our new study discussing the balance between sample size and scan duration in BWAS. Led by the awesome @Leon_Oo1 and @csabaorban! "The returns of scan duration eventually diminish relative to sample size, which we explain with principled theoretical derivations." 👇

1/11 The poll has ended: 53% (scan time) vs 47% (sample size)! Here's our in-depth take on brain-wide association studies (with a 134-page supplement!): biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Led by @Leon_Oo1 @csabaorban, there are a few twists, so do read till the end! Our previous study ...

Exciting 🤩work from @ZShaoshi & @bttyeo in collab with @bart_larsen validates a neat approach to estimating cortical E/I ratios from fMRI data! Application to youth 🧠data reveals that E/I ratio development varies between sensorimotor and association cortex and impacts cognition
