Defending the throttling policy as more than an exercise in control is absurd, as is "you’re the media now". "You’re the doctor now," & "you’re the police now," didn’t work out so well either. There is plenty of bias in the media, but fact-checking and accountability matter.
If you can’t control the media, and can’t yet censor it effectively, attack its credibility. Call it "fake news" so enough people will doubt when the truth comes out. Create a thousand alternate realities. But control and censorship is still the bigger prize, don’t forget it.
