It was very nice to collaborate with @Robert_Palgrave and students to analyze the autonomous lab paper.Our findings are summarized in the thread here. Most crucial finding imo is that compositional disorder in materials cannot be neglected,as is can lead to incorrect conclusions.

We have now completed our analysis of new materials reported in the Google Deepmind / Berkeley autonomous lab paper. My own initial analysis is in the quote tweet. Happy to have worked with @SchoopLab to jointly put together a comprehensive analysis, now available on @ChemRxiv

ALF stores H2 at low P/mild T - great for fuel cell pairing. preprint: dx.doi.org/10.26434/chemr… This work was spearheaded by us at NIST, but we have some wonderful technoeconomic analysis from @hanna_breunig +Peng showing ALF's cost competitiveness vs compressed H2.

Gas Separation! The legend of Al(HCOO)3 (ALF) continues. After CO2 capture and air separation, ALF exhibits molecular-sieving separation of CO2 from hydrocarbons, including C2H2. Great collaboration within ALF team @Piero_Canepa and Tony, @J_A_C_S pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
