Martha Greenblatt was mentored by JBG through her work on ReO3 and molybdenum bronzes at Oxford, Bell Labs, and Rutgers. If you go up her academic tree, you'll reach Friedrich Wohler, who published the first oxide bronze phase in 1824! #JBG100th

The neatest thing about putting together this special issue on LGBTQ+ chemists for @cenmag is that we had -a lot more- highly visible out LGBTQ+ chemists we wanted to highlight than we had space to include. I don't think that would have been true even a decade ago.

For the science people out there who follow this account, I've created a YouTube channel called Pat's Perovskites with edited lectures from a course I'm teaching on X-ray Diffraction, and an earlier course on Solid State Chemistry. Feel free to check it out if that's of interest.

I had so much fun at Ames! met with Prof. Vela, Julia and her husband (Kirill), Wenyu, Long, Fei, Tae-soo, David (Potoyan), Prof. Canfield, Sergey, Raquel, of course, Gordie and Irmi... a lot of excellent graduate students! We had the beer made from Iowa Corn, not wheat...

So happy to welcome Prof ⁦@Weiwei_Xie_RU⁩ back to Ames for a seminar ⁦@IASTATE_Chem
