I'm going to say it. I chose Excel over Notion to organise and keep track of my work. I did it. I said it.

Fun fact, I used Notion today! I needed to create a timeline to share with my supervisors and it was the easiest and quickest way I could come up with. That said, I don't wish to continue using it for anything else at the moment. I tried the calendar and it's not for me!

The closer I am to finishing my PhD, the more I realise it might have not been the best life decision I have made. It's ok that I went for it because I did what I deemed best at the time, but looking back, I wish I had broaden my horizons.

It’s so confusing how I like and dislike Microsoft Word for the same reason: unlinked documents. On one side, I love that a project can live on its own. On the other side, file management and accessibility take a lot of effort. I think I would still choose Word over Obsidian.

I received a job opportunity this week. It’s a really appealing offer. The question is, do I want to leave academia? On one hand, it would be amazing to have a permanent contract and not worry, but then if I leave academia, will I be able to come back?
