NHS staff who agreed with the statement “I would feel secure raising concerns about unsafe clinical practice” has hit a five-year low at 71% according to @NatGuardianFTSU

The Independent National Whistleblowing Officer has been operational for two years. In 2022-23 Annual Report, we noted that we received 125 INWO cases. A spike in cases in Q4 was likely to have been the result of Speak Up Week raising general awareness: spso.org.uk/annual-reports

Our @NHSCHECK1 study has found that ~8% of NHS staff meet diagnostic criteria for #PTSD using a gold standard interview tool. Staff with PTSD are likely to find delivering safe care problematic. Priority mental health treatment is a must to protect staff & patients. @somceo
