A law I helped create was the reason Giselle’s husband was caught. It exposed the stomach churning abuse of his wife. I have received hundreds of messages over the last 48hrs about it. Here’s how I feel: 🧵

❗Important update for consultants in Scotland❗ @scotgov has offered a date for pay talks to begin in August. This is welcome, but it must be noted SCC now regards itself in formal dispute with the government with preparations to proceed to a ballot on IA being ramped up. 🧵1/4

This week is #LonelinessAwarenessWeek. It's really important that we talk about loneliness – whether you’re feeling lonely yourself or someone you know is experiencing it. We’ve put together some info and links in this thread that might help 🧵

Can second this. Another tough night shift with a fab team, as we yet again struggled through long bed waits, no flow whatsoever in ED, all with (mostly) smiles on their faces and keeping everyone going throughout. Don't know how they do it but so bloody glad they do.

Off to spend this #InternationalNursesDay with some of the best clinicians you’ll ever meet - the emergency department nurses! An incredibly skilled group of badasses who manage huge amounts of risk and cope with the stress and moral injury on the daily. 🫶❤️

12 years ago almost to the day my grandmother died from Alzheimer’s, but we lost her many years earlier as her self termed “forgettory” grew. It’s a horrid disease. Heartbreaking to see the devastating effects on another family, but so wonderful to see how they helped so many.

38 years ago a woman in Coventry sent a letter to some scientists. That letter went on to be the most important in Alzheimer's research. Last year, I met Carol Jennings, who wrote it. 1/ thetimes.co.uk/article/e78c47…
