This is my daughter Semina Halliwell she was only 12 years old when she took her own life. Why ? You maybe asking..... well I will tell you what is fact!! She was groomed online by an older boy She was pressured into a meeting with him by constantly being contacted by him. When…
At 20min Are you saying a doctor is going to kill a PA within 3 to 6 months ?@pa_StephenNash do you also admit you lied when you said there was a acid attack against a PA in the carpark? bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…
Hi @gmcuk You keep citing toxic bullying online in the PA debate PAs collated a dossier of every anti-PA thing said by doctors online And yet... Not one doctor was sanctioned for breaching GMC standards Curious isn't it?
🚨 NEW: Physician associates at @RoyalFreeNHS illegally requested over 1,000 scans involving ionising radiation over 3 years A loophole in the hospital's electronic system (Cerner) allowed PAs to request the tests. Senior doctors knew this was happening but did not act 👇
#askforadoctor This is where the problem is. The only concern is the individual PA wanting to protect their £55k to £100k incomes. While it’s sad their job role needs to Change, no one seems to care for the people that have died because we have allowed PAs to play Doctor.
The @rcgp AGM is tonight. You can still register and attend virtually at 1830 to vote down special resolution 4. Don't dilute the board.

🚨Reminder for resident doctors🚨 Protect your patients and your licences; follow our guidance! 👇🏼 Never prescribe based on a request from, or assessment by, a MAP alone. If it’s urgent, assess the patient yourself. If not, sign post them to their supervising consultant.
All of this is unsafe and should not be permitted in the Trust Medicines Policy. I'm not even sure what the second para means - but think it could be interpreted as PAs prescribing on behalf of doctors which is illegal.
Starting pay for entry level IT £29k, doctors £32k and PA £44k
These are the imposed take home rates for extra-contractual work at @uhbtrust - with income tax, NI & student loan deducted. FY1: £8.66/h Unsocial: £11.87/h FY2-ST lower: £11.75/h Unsocial: £16.09/h ST higher: £16.89/h Unsocial: £23.13/h Cons: £36.83/h Unsocial: £49.11/h
Also for gen Z more generally (not just resident docs) student loans mean marginal tax rate is v high. 49% if you are a higher rate tax payer - and potentially child benefit clawback. Means extra hrs/pay rise can leave v little extra in your pocket.
Can I setup my own university and award all GMC registered doctors who apply with a PA degree so that a FY2 can work in GP or get paid £80k a year for the same rota as a SHO in the hospital?
Typical covert racist comments in response to an Asian standing for a senior position in the Royal College
Odd isn’t it seeing that I own it I am happy to hand over for free - if you guys stop being idiots. But I feel that probably won’t happen with you at the helm Stephen
Sandeep, I would invite you to take legal action against us if you wish us to stop using it. It was registered after the announcement we had launched. We look forward to your correspondence.
Was always the plan …
#askforadoctor we are replacing our doctored with undertrained unsafe clinicians. Shifts are open here to PA, ACPs and doctors.

Here we have Prof Jeannie Watkins , Phil Begg and Jim Parle discussing the PA title . Interesting to note that it was the @DHSCgovuk who suggested a change of title to ‘Associate’ and both Parle and Watkins confirm this . @Doc_IonaCollins @AnaesUnited @DrPhilBanfield
The controversy over physician associates (PAs) in the NHS is an issue that refuses to go away – my piece for today's Daily Mail summarises the chief issues. The goodwill of doctors and PAs has been eroded by poor NHS workforce planning – another issue that refuses to go away.
PAs work autonomously but also under supervision. How does this work in practice?
A PA job in Breast/Endo surgery: The biggest red flag phrase I’ve seen in a job description “Perform other tasks, *not prohibited by law*” Is that really the benchmark?! 🚩 🚩 If there was ever an example of why URGENT national scope for the PA role is needed - this is it.
Simply unacceptable. “Opportunities to scrub in for theatre cases as first assistant and develop skills such as skin closure, minor ops and simple breast procedures” “Perform other tasks, not prohibited by law in which the PA has been trained and is proficient to perform”…
