I have a PhD student position starting Aug 2024 at ECE @iiscbangalore, broadly in foundations of gen-AI / language agents, and associated machine learning approaches. Please apply by March 2024 if interested! ece.iisc.ac.in/~aditya/openin…
Asking if it's still worth learning to code in the age of AI is like asking if it's still worth learning to write in the age of the printing press. It's even more valuable than before. You've just gained new leverage.
This is how @iiscbangalore looked today on Open Day. What an amazingly well organised event with such a large footfall!
Another gem from my toddler, "it's not one late, it's two late" I was asking him to sleep since it was too late 😂
Excited to share that 3 @Spotify @SpotifyResearch @SpotifyEng papers have been accepted at @TheWebConf #WWW2022 (1/4).

I have only just discovered Ian Banks! What a great hear (courtesy audible) the player of games was !!
@aclmeeting Thank you for this recognition! Signed languages are rich in meaning and expression, grammatical features, gestures, and culture, and sign language processing proposes several important scientific questions and engineering challenges.
I'm blown away and super honored that our paper was awarded *Best Theme Paper* at ACL 2021! Really grateful to my collaborators and the committee for recognizing our work, I really hope this can help more NLP researchers to work with signing communities in the next few years 😊
4yo's best linguistic innovations to date: "hafted" (had to do something in the past) "nopesolutely" (definitely not) "as hot as ice is cold" (very hot)
I had the unique Van Gough Alive experience this Sunday, and it's great to see technology bring such a unique art experience alive for everyone. Even my toddler enjoyed the experience and danced !! #VanGoghAliveLondon
A burst of words this month, sometimes the word starts as a phrase and then slowly segments to form the word. Eg. phrase "bye dada" for goodbye-father, has now generalized to "bye <name>" with more handpicked illustrations. Now imagine such composition challenges in NLP datasets!
Bengaluru Urban could see 5.13L COVID cases by 1 May'21 and a peak around the 18th of April'21 with a maximum active case of 34.59K. For District-wise Karnataka projection, check cmg.cds.iisc.ac.in/covid/states/K… @epigiri #COVIDSecondWave #Bengaluru
A friendly 3-year-old toddler taught my 1.5-year-old toddler an interesting toy-hack by examples and demonstration. It reminded me of how we teach machine learning models by examples !!!
The amount of plastics used in grocery packaging is shocking. Every time we cooked, the plastic pile was a bit hard to face. So, this month we switched to veg boxes. I am so happy with the results :)
Wrote a paper don't know where to send it? Got a paper and don't know who should review it? Worried you miss related papers? All scientists should use jane for such questions: jane.biosemantics.org Been in love with it for years and only just realized not everyone knows.
Or you could ask the cook to come a bit later xD
Happy to present my group's work on Indian language understanding.
