British farmers need our support in the wake of Keir Starmer’s cruel attack on family farms. Go to stopthefarmtax.com
The message from farmers I’ve met is clear: Labour’s Family Farm Tax is going to cripple the industry. If we lose our family farms, we won’t be getting them back. I’m clear that we oppose these taxes, and we would reverse them.
Yesterday I met with a delegation of Ukrainian Parliamentarians. We discussed the importance of our steadfast support for Ukraine and defending the principles of freedom and democracy against Russia’s aggression.
It is right that the Treasury have taken down their misleading post on the Chancellor’s National Insurance hike. Given this response, I hope all Government ministers will now correct the record accordingly.
Spot on. I have written to the Permanent Secretary of the Treasury over the Government’s consistent use of misleading claims relating to their National Insurance hike. Labour promised not to raise NICs and they did. They should be honest about that.
The closest many Labour politicians have come to business is standing outside on a picket line. Labour’s budget impact on employment will be devastating.
"Come and work in my restaurant for a week and I'll show you how it really, really works" Lorraine Arnold, a fish and chip shop owner, tells Labour MP Nesil Caliskan she's "incensed" after the government's Budget "devalued" her business #PoliticsLive bbc.in/3O7iygi

Seriously? I know this was in the Red Book. And I'm no expert on rules covering what government depts can/cannot say. But at best this is dubious. And that's being generous. Increasing NI was the central tax raising measure in the Budget. What is the point in pushing this line?
Constructive meeting with our excellent Conservative council group leaders to discuss upcoming elections. Our local councillors are an integral part to the renewal of our party and are a key voice in communities. I will be working with them to ensure their success in 2025.
❌ As further details emerge it seems that Labour’s Family Farm Tax is being designed to hit even harder. 🥀 There is still time for Labour to u-turn on it, and they must, unless they want to leave not only broken promises but a broken farming industry.
🔴 NEW: Rachel Reeves has dealt another blow to farmers by preventing them from sharing their £1m tax relief with spouses or civil partners
May he Rest in Peace, Sasha. Your father was not only a formidable Defence Secretary, standing up to invading forces during the Falklands War, he also served his country in uniform for many years. The freedom we all enjoy now is only possible because of the people who fought…
Honoured to take on role as shadow Attorney General, working with @KemiBadenoch and her shadow cabinet, to ensure we hold the Government to account on matters of law and justice. (I will continue my practice as a KC at @OneEssexCourt) telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…
It’ll come as no surprise that I didn’t receive a single straight answer from the Prime Minister during my first #PMQs this afternoon. Whether it’s giving away the Chagos Islands, supporting reparations or making offensive comments about the President of the United States……
Congratulations President-elect @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. The world faces many serious challenges and I look forward to our two countries working together to confront them.
Delighted to hold my first meeting of the new Shadow Cabinet this morning. My team draws on talents from across our party, based on meritocracy and with a breadth of experience and perspective, just as I promised during the campaign. We will now get to work holding Labour to…
Two chairmen at the Two Chairmen… Good first day as co-chairman with my friend Lord Johnson. But now down to work!
