British Ambassador to Israel

It has been more than 400 days since the Israeli hostages were taken to Gaza. The heartbreak, devastation & fighting continue. The human cost is horrifying. We continue to call for their release, and for the fighting to stop.

I’m horrified by the appalling attacks on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam. Antisemitism cannot ever be justified by context. Hate crimes must be addressed robustly by the authorities. We hope for the swift & safe return of all the fans, and wish the injured full recovery.

Today I met Rabbi @SDavidsohn to remember the victims of the October 7 attacks. The past year has had devastating impacts on communities across the UK, with antisemitic incidents at a record high. This is unacceptable. We will root out antisemitism wherever we find it.

I condemn Iran’s attack on Israel in the strongest terms. Today I warned Iran against taking action that could push the region further towards the brink. A cycle of escalation is in no one’s interest.

I completely condemn Iran's attack on Israel this evening.

Speaking with those who have lost loved ones and have family members still held hostage in Gaza, I reaffirmed my government’s commitment to do everything we can to keep alive the memory of those who were killed and to bring the hostages home.

The UK condemns Hamas’ appalling murder of 6 innocent hostages in Gaza in the strongest terms. I offer my deepest condolences to those grieving at this awful time. Hamas must release all the hostages immediately, and all sides must accept the deal on the table to end this war.

I am completely shocked at the horrific and senseless killing of six hostages in Gaza by Hamas. My thoughts are with their loved ones at this awful time. Hamas must release all the hostages now, and a ceasefire deal must be agreed by all sides immediately to end the suffering.

I met with the families of those still cruelly being held hostage in Gaza. I heard about the terrible ordeal they continue to go through, worsening each day. We are clear in our call - Hamas must release all hostages immediately.

Joint article by the Foreign Secretary and the French Foreign Minister on their visit to Israel and the OPTs. Their message: all should focus on achieving a deal to release the hostages and secure a ceasefire. Iran must not jeopardise this effort. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
