Okay, so I used my Apple Watch's compass to align my telescope to 348 degrees to account for 12 degrees of magnetic declination, and plate solving with my scope showed that I was indeed within 1 degree of polar alignment. That's amazing.
I went ahead and updated the palette from last night's session. I'm getting the hang of this SHO post-processing chain.
And here's the Monkey Head Nebula from my telescope session last night. Shot in Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen III, and Sulfer ii. Total integration time: 4.65 hours.
The raw data from the Monkey Head Nebula looks good. Now it's just a matter of turning it into a proper image.
I’m going to try taking sky flats and see how they compare to my drawing tablet.
