🫡 Shout out to Buoy 46005! The center of the strong oceanic cyclone passed almost right overhead, however, it ceased reporting observations over an hour ago with the last record pressure reading of 952mb... It's likely below 950mb now. #wawx #orwx

Through 10 Nov, the 2024 Atlantic #hurricane season is above normal for all metrics. More intense metrics (e.g., hurricanes, hurricane days, major hurricanes and major hurricane days) are more above average than metrics for weaker storms (e.g., named storms, named storm days)

It’s incredible that, in 2024, NOAA has to tweet a release affirming that scientists do not create or steer hurricanes. The mass proliferation of conspiracies and willful ignorance is uniquely American. Only here do the uneducated take pride in being uneducated to this extent.

FACT CHECK: Debunking weather modification claims. No one creates or steers hurricanes; the technology does not exist. Details: noaa.gov/news/fact-chec… @NWS @NOAAResearch

Meteorologists are scientists, and that includes those you see on TV. They went to school for years and took science classes like dynamics and synoptic meteorology (plus math). It's a complex atmosphere that CANNOT be learned by quickly looking on Wikipedia or making things up.
