Trying to prepare for @GlobalBirdfair but distracted by prospecting swifts! Here's a very small selection of the swift watercolours on show. I'm in Puffin marquee, stand 13. 12th-14th July. jonathanpomroy.co.uk

Beachy Head: 1300+ Swift west midmorning in a manic 60 minutes, but a real surprise was the Hawfinch which launched out from a ridge of clifftop cover nearest the pub! A long overdue bird for me here. @SussexBirding

Have you noticed fewer swifts this year too? With their numbers in free fall, help us stop this downward trajectory, before we lose swifts from Sheffield skies forever

Whoever wins OUR vote should only be our voice by showing nature leadership - for all our sakes. Easiest step: mandate swift bricks - simple, urgently essential, nesting habitat for swifts&our most accessible touch point to nature- urban birds. WE have the power. #GeneralElection

Now I have my first nesting swifts on my own home, I'm reflecting on all the work we've done for this species in this part of East Sussex in England. We won't relent. Our work goes on. Hastings & Rother Swift Conservation Group East Sussex 19/05/2024 (Photo - Robert Booth)

This happened this morning in Kent! "Unbelievable! I've just seen two swifts copulating in the sky above work in Kent! They've been about for the last week, I think they’re nesting on an adjoining property, I can't be sure! Calls playing and boxes provided here, nonetheless!"

We're potential swift first time parents! Two swifts boxed at our home in Crowhurst at 19:25 today! 14/05/2024 🥳
