Roger Federer's retirement letter to Rafael Nadal is somehow even more classy than you would expect 👏

Inspired by the 101st Airborne Division, we will honor the relentless fighting force of the #ScreamingEagles on Dec. 14 #GoArmy x #BeatNavy

LET'S GO!!

Great news from @EmersonCollege and @EmersonLions today as the school has announced they are going to officially name the basketball court after our Coach - Hank Smith this coming January...so appreciative of this honor for the person that had a profound affect on so many lives.

I’ve been getting pushback at coaching clinics when I say, “you can’t separate the skill from the decision”. Coaches clinging to linear progression: “drills” (for skills) -> live (once requisite skills are acquired). The skill is the decision which impacts how we teach.

This graph holds true throughout virtually every level of basketball. 👀 Shot quality is the most important metric for an offense to track/optimize. UTILIZE THE DATA.

After hearing them discuss cutting and how they value it/incorporate I their offense, it's easy to understand why they're leading the league in offensive efficiency

Everybody looks at the threes, but it’s more than that. It seems so simplistic, but I was really curious: Can cutting be just as effective as stretching the floor with shooters on the perimeter while playing five out? Asked Kenny Atkinson and the #Cavs. Outstanding insight.

Really classy way to say goodbye. Well done.

Thank you. Love ya.

What most parents perceive as a good learning environment is actually the opposite. Let’s unpack that….

Unreal.

In NBA history, one player in their entire career has had all three of: - A 25/15/15 game - A game with 40+ points on one or fewer made free throws - A game with 7+ made threes That player is Nikola Jokic, who did each of those in a different game over the last four days.

Stay petty @celtics

The #Celtics sent the receipts to the @NBAonTNT crew on cigars and they are SHOCKED! (🎥 NBA TNT)

The beanbag study. This is why we practice FTs from variable distances, rather than just shooting from the FT line

Shooting tons of free throws in practice doesn’t always lead to game success. High practice percentages, like Dwight Howard’s 82%, don’t transfer because game-like variability is missing. Practicing with varied reps and conditions is they key to improving real-game performance.

The future of basketball:

Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach Taylor Jenkins on if there's "a difference between running plays and playing through principles," post game vs. the Heat via @DrewHill_DM, great questions and an interesting answer from Coach

The reality is that even the best play designs are executed properly less than 50% of the time. Decision making is everything in basketball. 👇🏼 Great ball movement = Great ‘0.5 second decision making'. 0.5 second decision is: - deciphering advantage - capitalizing on a big…

With the caveat that this is pre-season, through four games the Memphis Grizzlies have scored 27 (Jenkins era high), 19, 16, and 19 points off cuts In 2021/22 the Grizzlies averaged 9.4 points per game of cuts, RS high in the Jenkins era all per Synergy
