Yet another collision at the junction of Torridon Rd & Hither Green Lane! How many more incidents will it take for you to address excess traffic & speeding on Hither Green West roads? @LewishamCouncil @CllrMarkIngleby @kimpowell_ @YemisiAnifowose @LouiseKrupski @Brenda_Dacres

Third day, third crash. All within a few hundred metres of each other. This time a driver has ploughed straight into a house on Verdant Lane, Catford. When will this road danger be sorted out?! x.com/CatfordParking…

One day after a driver smashed into a shop on one side of the road, another driver does this: about 20 metres apart. When will we have safe spaces for walking and cycling in Lewisham? x.com/CatfordParking…

@LewishamCouncil @LouiseKrupski You could pilot these on every side road off Hither Green Lane. Perhaps you could add them to all the other solutions recommended in the Environmental Visual Audit the police submitted to @TfL & in response to Sustainable Streets priorities here 😀

A car smashed into shop in Catford/Hither Green last night. Pedestrians could have been killed. When will we have safe spaces for walking in @LewishamCouncil?

📊NEW 2023 DATA ADDED📊 When prominent anti-LTN critics say Lewisham's LTN made pollution on A205 South Circular (or A20 Lee High Rd) worse, ALWAYS ask them for the data ⬇️ Multi-site monitoring for both "community/boundary" roads continues to fall 😀 [LTN installed post-2019]

Around 70% of Londoners want more Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) and 60% agree that all roads across the city should have a 20mph speed limit, according to a new survey. localgov.co.uk/Londoners-back…

Next week is #Week38, where hospitals receive the most admissions for children with asthma. With traffic on the Sth Circular still 7.9% lower than pre-LTN (2019), it's good to see child asthma admissions falling at a faster rate than rest of London since @JanetDaby @Brenda_Dacres

Hither Green West's cycle corrals have a regular turnover of visitors throughout the day - here we have 8 cycles replacing two cars.

Well Lewisham Labour would have been proved right if they did more rather than trying to defend a solitary single LTN. We have submitted low cost LTN plans multiple times to @LewishamCouncil hopefully @LouiseKrupski will follow through 👍🏻 theguardian.com/environment/bi…

It's been a while since our residual anti-LTNer was calling for Lewisham's LTN to be opened up because the "24/7 gRiDloCk" would get worse because of Thames Water works on the A20 Lee High Road. Let's see how that "gRiDloCk" looks this morning rush hour. Brace yourselves... 👇

There are loading bays on HG Lane outside the Co-Op and George's. But every time I walk up there HGVs and cars are all over the pavements incl. parked on double yellow, blocking pedestrian crossovers et @HitherGreenLab @LouiseKrupski Bollards needed keep vehicles off pavements!

@LewishamCouncil Hither Green Lane yet again 👇. The saddest thing is that local residents aren't even surprised any more. This was the second serious accident in as many weeks.

Me: is this your van? Driver: Yes Me: And you're parking it across the pavement like that? Driver: I'm only in the shop for a few minutes. You can walk around. Me: But you shouldn't be parking across the pavement like that. Driver: what *is* your problem! @LewishamCouncil

If this can be done to Amhurst Road, imagine the potential to transform Hither Green Lane. @LewishamCouncil @LouiseKrupski @HGWestLTN

@LewishamCouncil @LouiseKrupski You'll remember we actually designed a Hither Green West LTN for you which requires only 4 camera filters. Three of the cameras are already in situ! We also garnered lots of support for it. @HGWestLTN Let's do this!

Standby for more than 30 new LTNs in London... standard.co.uk/news/london/lo…

@HGWestLTN designed a fantastic LTN for Hither Green (west of the railway line) using only 4 camera filters. We already have three cameras in situ (currently either inactive or controlling HGVd), so could easily implement a new LTN with @LewishamCouncil here!

There is strong evidence that LTNs can make streets safer by lowering traffic levels, reducing street crime and enabling people to walk & cycle more. We continue to support boroughs implementing well planned schemes to cut traffic, improve safety & increase active travel 🚶‍♀️🚲💚
