Islington just released revised drawings for the new cycle crossing at Newington Green. A few slight tweaks from the plan at consultation. Overall looks good! Construction starts Nov 18.

If you are like me and feel Twitter has bent your brain listen to this chat between Ezra Klein and PJ Vogt. Time to embrace long form and move away from short form takes so we can learn to think again. searchengine.show/listen/search-…

I'm guessing it is no longer possible to officially download all tweets?

These numbers are insane... automated enforcement basically wipes away racial differences in police stops. Without enforcement, on roads where half the drivers are Black, they make up about 70% of police stops! Drops to 54% when automatic cameras are in use.

Hard to overstate how much of an improvement speed cameras are compared to police issuing tickets. Speed cameras are *way* more fair -- and also more reliable. theconversation.com/police-stop-mo…

Also bigger question is why aren't there direct public transport links between Dulles and Bethesda?

Why is @Googlemaps including this bit of walking around the terminal at Washington Dulles Airport and say it is going to take 2 hours 16 minutes?

Just emailed the Governor's transportation staff to say "Given the election results, if you want the MTA to have any capital program at all, you need to turn on Congestion Pricing immediately."

Did you know that residents of Greater Cambridge make up 0.5% of the UK's population, but cycle 4% of all miles? And each of these cycling miles is 2.7 times less likely to result in a fatality and 3.2 times less likely to result in a serious collision? (Slide 1 data: @Sustrans)

There are even cisterns underneath. Learn more about this garden street here.

The making of this “tuinstraat” (garden street) is also interesting. It’s not just some green on the surface. 💌 For example, it was a cocreation process with the inhabitants. And there are a lot of rainwater barrels under the street. antwerpen.be/info/5fe33dc0f…

THE GARDEN STREET. An idea co-created with neighbors in Antwerp. Shouldn’t this spread to every city?

My book has been nominated for the @PeoplesBkPrize - and it needs votes to win! So if you've enjoyed it, do consider voting for it, it would mean a lot to me, as a first-time author: peoplesbookprize.com/2024-cat/non-f…

A sign prohibiting passage through the ZTL in Paris

On applaudit 👏🏻🥂
