MANX SHEARWATERS and ATLANTIC PUFFINS migrating through Cornwall now

Manx Shearwater have arrived from their South Atlantic wintering grounds this week. 226 counted this morning from Porthgwarra. Puffin movement continues as well with a decent 124 (and another 61 yesterday). Sadly, the fog and rain ended better counts. Video shows a few…

LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER back at Cley NWT Reserve today

After being AWOL since 23rd Nov (at Breydon & in darkest Suffolk 2nd Feb-11th Mar and who knows where before that), as expected & hoped, he's back at Cley NWT (where 1st seen 19/10/22) today! And just beginning his moult into summer plumage (more pics at cleybirds.com).

The Rustic Bunting was still present this morning about 8.35am, perched up for 2mins in the trees at the back of the field before disappearing back into the crop. This was the first time I’d seen it since last Thursday - it’s not easy!
