The Pied Wheatear at Splash Point, Seaford performed well this morning, supporting cast of 3 Black Redstarts including a smart male. Many observers present to enjoy Sussex rarity @SussexBirding @SussexOrnitholo

Nice mornings birding Beachy Head with @_MattEade before he leaves us to move up north! The Desert Wheatear remains and now has a Northern Wheatear for company. A GW Egret in the most bizarre setting in a set aside field right next to the main road! Bonkers! @SussexBirding

A long circuit of Beachy Head with @nickybond007 today was highlighted by the tame Desert Wheatear. Afterwards, 3 Water Pipits were at West Rise Marsh. Thanks Nick for the below pic of me and said Wheatear, probably my last Sussex rarity before moving north. @SussexBirding

Nothing better than a local lifer, the very smart Lapland bunting did the kind thing and stayed the night, showing down to a few feet this morning. I'm hoping it stays a bit longer to let even more catch up with it. #londonbirds

Another Heathrow trip enabled me to drop into Staines Reservoir to see this Lapland Bunting, becoming rather difficult to catch up with these days...finding plenty to eat along the causeway and at times just a few feet away

At least 40 Hawfinches at Sherwood Rough and Rewell Wood this morning. Increase here recently suggests some are continental birds, part of the influx. With Yellowhammers in photo. @SussexBirding @SussexOrnitholo @SussexWildlife @HawfinchesUK

Nocmig and vis mig fans futher west - be ready, thrushes are coming! First frosty nights have triggered some good nocturnal migration. My SM recorder detected last night around 150 Song Thrushes over my house in Haapsalu trektellen.nl/count/view/276…

They're coming, again!

The Grozzas are coming! Pine Grosbeaks have arrived in Oslo and I reckon we are going to have a big movement on our hands this autumn. All the birds I had today were heading south west although one did stop briefly for a photo.

Worthing v Braintree is a belting game - but if Worthing get a winner in extra time I’m worried he might go through the shed roof 😂
