Visited Brampton East Pit this AM in hopes of seeing the Great Northern Diver. It spent lots of time under water, often reemerging distantly, but eventually I got great views from the path up the West side. Stunning bird; a year tick, my 2nd ever, and 1st inland! @CambsBirdClub
3 lifers today at a brilliant day at @NWTCleyCentre - Long Billed Dowitcher from Bishops Hide and Velvet Scoters + Red Throated Diver on the sea. Also 8 Dunlin, 2 Snipe & lots of Bearded Tits pinging @NorfolkWT
Black Necked Grebe still present at Edgbaston Reservoir yesterday afternoon @WestMidBirdClub
Slimbridge late am/early pm. Hides leading to Estuary Tower quiet; Marsh Harrier & Sprawk over reeds at Summer Walk. 6 Cattle Egret, Green Sand & Snipe at South Lake. Ruff, Spotshank & BlTG from Zeiss. Young grass snake on the path near Kingfisher hide! @slimbridge_wild
Quick afternoon drop in to Hauxley Nature Reserve to break up a long drive. Brilliant to see at least 3 Tree Sparrows from the Skua Hide. Also Redshank, Oyc, Little Grebe on the pools, House Martin still skimming over the water & a Roe Deer near the visitor centre @NTBirdClub
At @RSPBLochGarten today; quite a few Crested Tits calling; harder to see, even harder still to photograph. An exercise in patience eventually afforded me this view; a lifer and my 200th UK bird! Also Treecreeper, GSW, 2 Raven over & 4 female Goldeneye on the Loch. @Natures_Voice
Musselburgh/Levenhall Links this morning. Lagoons practically empty but for a couple of Redshank & Oyc. Good selection of waders on the beach inc. more of the aforementioned plus Curlew, Turnstone & Barwit. Plenty of Eider out to sea and Stonechats in the shrub @birdinglothian
Exploring the West side end of Ouse Fen this morning; from Needingworth to Berry Fen and back. Berry Fen by far the best spot: 4 Greenshank, 3 Snipe, 3 Cattle Egret & and Wood Sandpiper; my first ever! Also L. Whitethroat, GWE over & Cetti’s heard @Natures_Voice @CambsBirdClub
Lovely day at Frampton Marsh & Freiston Shore; highlights at Frampton were Curlew Sand, c.30 Spoonbill, Greenshank. Freiston was quieter but lots of Yellow Wagtail in the cattle field and the escapee Black Swans on the lagoon. @RSPBFrampton @Lincsbirding

A hot afternoon at @WWTWelney - highlights from the Main Observatory were 2 Spoonbill, 2 Marsh Harrier, Common Sand, Green Sand, lots of Ruff/Black Tailed Godwit & intimate views of the many Yellow Wagtails flitting to and from the near island! Pretty quiet from the other hides…

Great showing from the long staying Wood Warbler at Harry’s Wood, Northamptonshire this afternoon. Gave some great views and what a belter of a song! #northantsbirds
Decent mornings birding round #PaxtonPits; highlights being a visible Lesser Whitethroat among the normal array of common whites, blackcap, garden Warb etc. and heard willow warb. 4 Avocet South end of Island Pit and some great Sand Martin action at the new quarry workings
At RSPB Ouse Fen this afternoon, sadly didn’t see the Great Reed Warbler, I think it hunkered down due to the wind, but still heard it loud and proud. Nearby Grasshopper Warbler was ample compensation. Also saw Hobby & Marsh Harrier + heard Cuckoo & Bearded Tit @CambsBirdClub
Singing Nightingale at Diddington, Cambridgeshire this morning; recorded from the track along the back of the Pumphouse Pits at around 6:30am. Had a clear view of the bird for about 15 minutes before it dipped down into the bush and out of sight @CambsBirdClub @BBCSpringwatch
At Harrold-Odell Country Park, Bedfordshire yesterday for a couple of hours afternoon walk. Nothing too fancy but plenty of Common Tern, Great Crested Grebe and an Oystercatcher on the Lake, Reed Warbler seen from the path & heard Blackcap, Cetti’s Warbler & a single Cuckoo
Quick trip to Hainault Country Park whilst away in London, Highlights were a stunning fox very near the car park & several Skylarks singing conspicuously from the shrubs. Also saw parakeets in flight and heard lots of warblers inc. Whitethroat. You’re never far from wildlife!
