The temperature in the North Atlantic is COLD! Anywhere from 11-15 degrees Celsius where we are headed. In order to be safe, researchers practice putting on cold water emergency survival gear. It is harder than it looks! #Exp395 #IODP

We are so proud of and excited for Halima, our PhD student working with Dr. Molly Patterson! Halima is joining the @TheJR ‘sailing club’; she’s sailing on #Exp395 as a sedimentologist! May the seas be smooth and sediments plentiful to all expedition participants!

Words can't describe how incredibly proud I am of @Char_Heo! Totally knocked her thesis defense out of the park!! Relatedly, stay tuned for some awesome #Pliocene Kuroshio Current Extension research!

I successfully defended my master’s thesis yesterday! I am so honored and proud to be @ForamWhisperer’s first grad student. I’d also like to thank @kirstenmprior who made it possible for me to collab with both departments! I’m so very grateful :-) ❤️ @BinghamtonGeol @BingUBio
